Each year Safe Horizon helps more than 350,000 victims
of crime and abuse become survivors



PROVIDING 24-HOUR LIFELINES TO CRIME VICTIMS
Each Year
* The Safe Horizon Domestic Violence Hotline responds to more than 140,000 calls with an average response time of 13 seconds.
* The Safe Horizon Crime Victims Hotline responds to more than 74,000 calls.
* The Safe Horizon September 11th Support Hotline responded to more than 110,000 calls between September 2001 and August 2002.

HELPING VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, STALKING, AND RAPE
Each Year
* 450 families and 600 children who are victims of domestic violence are provided emergency shelter.
* Our Anti-Stalking Program counsels more than 2,400 clients about safety planning and legal remedies.
* Our Domestic Violence Police Programs provide support and advocacy for more than 52,000 victims of domestic violence.
* More than 2,000 cases of child sexual or physical abuse are investigated at our Child Advocacy Centers.

HELPING CHILDREN AND YOUTH PREVENT AND COPE WITH VIOLENCE
Each Year
* Our school-based programs teach more than 14,000 students, teachers, and parents conflict resolution skills, one-on-one peer education, mediation skills, and leadership development.
* 15,000 homeless and street-involved youth receive practical services and counseling through our Streetwork Program.

HELPING FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IMPACTED BY CRIME AND ABUSE
Each Year
* More than 101,000 individuals are assisted with court orientation, criminal justice advocacy, emergency financial assistance, and referrals at our Criminal Court and Family Court Reception Centers.
* Our Criminal and Family Court Programs operate 10 children centers within the five boroughs, where over 22,000 children receive free, supportive, educational child-care while their parents or guardians attend court.
* More than 200 refugees and victims of torture receive counseling and support services through our Solace Program.
* Project Safe installs new locks in the homes of more than 2,200 crime victims within 48 hours of the request.
* Over 400 individuals and their families who have been victims of crime and abuse receive counseling at the Safe Horizon Counseling Center, a New York State-licensed mental health clinic.

EASING THE PAIN OF THOSE IMPACTED BY SEPTEMBER 11TH
Since 9-11-01
* Safe Horizon has distributed over $100 million to more than 45,000 families who lost loved ones, impacted workers, and displaced residents.
* Safe Horizon's Project Liberty Program has provided nearly 400 counseling and trauma support groups to more than 3,500 individuals.
