As leading providers of victim assistance services, Safe Horizons staff are accomplished experts in their field. As part of our mission, we work with other social service providers, schools, law enforcement, community programs, and businesses throughout New York City to raise awareness about issues concerning crime and abuse. Education is one of the most important factors in prevention, and many of Safe Horizons programs include outreach and education in their missions. Additionally, Safe Horizons Training and Staff Development Division presents an informative series of trainings and workshops. These trainings can be provided in the organizations state-of-the-art conference center in downtown Brooklyn or customized to meet the needs of individual organizations.
Among the many courses offered are Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Sexual Assault, and Workplace Diversity. We also offer a series of customized trainings through our Community Trauma Responder Academy developed after September 11th. Customized training programs can be developed to meet specific needs.
