Safe Horizon relies on the generosity of our supporters to achieve its mission of providing support, preventing violence, and promoting justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities. We assist more than 350,000 New Yorkers each year. Your contribution can make an enormous difference in the life of a victim of crime. Here are some examples of the essential services your donation can help provide: $50 transports a victim of elderly abuse to and from a Safe Horizon office where he can receive counseling, food, and other assistance. $100 provides dinner for women and children living in one of our domestic violence shelters. $150 rents a room for a support group for parents who lost a child to homicide. $250 enables an abused child to have a medical examination in one of our Child Advocacy Centers. $500 pays for a counselor and a safe space for evacuees from the World Trade Center to meet together once a week to help them recover from their shared trauma. $1,000 provides an attorney for a domestic violence victim who fled from her home with no money and cannot afford to pay legal fees.
